New & Improved Chicken Parmesan

Elevate your weeknight dinners with this flavorful and satisfying chicken parmesan. Our recipe features tender, breaded chicken, rich marinara sauce, and gooey melted mozzarella.

Ingredients

Boneless, skinless chicken breasts 1 pound, pounded to 1/2-inch thickness
All-purpose flour 1 cup
Salt 1 teaspoon
Black pepper 1/2 teaspoon
Large eggs, beaten 2
Italian breadcrumbs 1 cup
Grated Parmesan cheese 1/2 cup
Olive oil 1/4 cup
Marinara sauce 1 jar (24 ounces)
Shredded mozzarella cheese 1/2 cup
Fresh basil leaves For garnish

To Serve

Serve with your favorite pasta, such as spaghetti or penne.

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a shallow dish, combine flour, salt, and pepper.
  3. Dredge chicken breasts in flour mixture.
  4. In another shallow dish, combine eggs and breadcrumbs.
  5. Dip chicken breasts in egg mixture, then coat in breadcrumb mixture.
  6. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  7. Cook chicken breasts until golden brown on both sides, about 5-7 minutes per side.
  8. Transfer chicken breasts to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  9. Pour marinara sauce over chicken breasts.
  10. Top with mozzarella cheese.
  11. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until chicken is cooked through and cheese is melted and bubbly.
  12. Garnish with fresh basil leaves.
